Big Apple Lights Goes GQ

Big Apple Lights

supplied the rental lighting package that lit up the hottest nightclub spot in NYC, at the GQ Lounge, from September 5-28.

GQ Magazine chose New York City as the second location to unveil an innovative concept in creating GQ style. The magazine took an existing nightclub, Pressure, located on University Place in Greenwich Village, and transformed it into a GQ-inspired environment. The lounge featured numerous demonstrations and attracted big-name sponsors from the fashion and entertainment industries. GQ Lounge was open to the public on certain nights while access was restricted to private functions on others.

LD David LaVigna, of Simply By Others, asked Big Apple Lights to supply the production equipment for this project. He chose Big Apple, he says, because, “We were seeking a company that has the service and support in place to become an integral part of the team. Big Apple Lights came through for us big. They partnered with us every step of the way. Whatever we asked of Big Apple, they were able to accomplish. When you have confidence like we do in Big Apple Lights, the project goes that much smoother and the result was a rocking GQ Lounge. We look forward to our continued relationship with them.”

Patrick Eagleton, operations manager for Big Apple Lights, adds, “Being part of GQ’s 45th anniversary was a lot of fun and working with David and his team made the project special. We all worked very hard together and it resulted in a month-long party celebrating GQ Magazine and the entire fashion industry.”

Big Apple Lights supplied a combination of ETC, Rosco, NSI, and EDI products. They also supplied and managed all production labor for the event, which was supplied by IATSE Local One.
