Best Cinematography in AICP Show

Commercials by director/cameramen Jeff Darling, Claudio Miranda, and Robert Richardson, ASC, are honorees in the cinematography category of the 2002 AICP Show, The Art & Technique of the American Television Commercial. Darling's Wicked Game commercial for Jaguar; Miranda's underwater Tennis spot, sponsored by Pocari; and Richardson's Powder Keg, a BMW commercial, will be included as part of the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) reel, which premiered June 3 at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. The reel will tour the country in the coming year, and be exhibited at various museums and cultural institutions.

Darling, a native of Sydney, Australia, was previously honored by the AICP for a 1999 Boeing commercial, and has also shot music videos. Miranda, who was born in Santiago, Chile, has served as gaffer on the feature films Fight Club, The Game, and Crimson Tide, in addition to shooting music videos and commercials. Richardson is the Oscar-winning DP of JFK, as well as the movies Platoon, Born on the Fourth of July, Snow Falling on Cedars, the upcoming Four Feathers, and many others.
