AVR Marks Global Expansion, Releases New LED Range

AVR of Leicester, England, has launched a major international expansion with the creation of a co-owned American trading arm. AVR USA Inc., based in Miami, FL, is headed by well-known lighting industry professional Marcel Fairbairn, who also recently founded Gear-Source, and has more than 15 years experience in the US marketplace.

Exhibiting at Lightfair International in New York in May, AVR USA is looking forward to market interest within the US. Fairbairn is excited about the prospects. "From the first time I saw the earliest AVR downlights, I knew AVR would be a huge success. I am excited to be the one to bring this brand to America. Already some of the top design firms have become fans of the product line, and specifications are coming in."

Known for its interior and exterior color-changing luminaires, AVR will be launching its latest color tool at Lightfair, the Ledion Light Panel. This unique LED color changer can be used singularly or in multiples, and offers interior designers and specifiers new dimensions in the use of color as a mood generator, feature enhancer, and promotional tool.

Marcel sees the Ledion panel as greatly enhancing the AVR range. "We’re very excited about the new Ledion line. We had the first sample for less than 24 hours before a design company specified it on the Royal Caribbean liner Vision of the Seas. The same designer has also employed 48 Ledion panels in the touring stage design for a major US-based act."
