Avolites has appointed San Sebastian-based EES as its new Spanish distributor.
The company was formed in 2004 by Nacho Acha-Orbea and is also the Spanish Vari-Lite and Verlinde distributor. EES is a tightly focussed company that has built its reputation on supplying a small number of premium brands and superlative service. They have also just opened an office in Madrid.
Acha-Orbea says, “Avolites is a perfect compliment to our existing product range, and it’s also an industry standard and extremely well respected, so I see a great future ahead.” He adds that the breadth of the Avolites range is ideally suited to the professional lighting sectors in which they are most active: touring, television, corporate, and special events.
Avolites’ sales director Steve Warren says, “We’re delighted to welcome Nacho and his team to the Avolites family. EES is an extremely efficiently run operation with a great enthusiasm for the industry and a strong culture of wanting to provide the very best products and services.”
In the short time since EES has taken on the Avo dealership, the order book has already clocked up to 24 Pearl Expert consoles, some of which have been supplied, “This desk is going to be a big seller here,” observes Acha-Orbea, “The Pearl is one of the best loved consoles on the market and there’s nothing to beat it for live hands-on operation.”
EES supplied Pearls have been installed at the Palma casino in Mallorca and Luz de gas, a multi-purpose live venue in Barcelona.
Within a few days of taking on the distributorship, they also delivered their first Diamond 4 console to Audiomic in Bilbao, and EES-supplied D4s were also in action for the opening and closing ceremonies of the recent Malaga Film Festival, which featured lighting equipment supplied by Sonoluz and CR Light.
