Angstrom Lighting Celebrates 30 Years

Angstrom Lighting of Hollywood is announcing expanded services, additional staff, and a new branch office to commemorate its 30th year in business. Serving a wide range of clients in television, film, theatre, and corporate markets, the company started in 1977 by providing the Hollywood theatre community with high-quality lighting and service.

To mark their 30th year, Angstrom Lighting is moving forward with the following plans:

· Investing in new equipment to help streamline rentals, sales and distribution efforts;
· Hiring new personnel to assist with their growing client base;
· Expanding their repair department to handle higher levels of project work;
· Increasing their level of service by opening a second warehouse with location details to be announced soon.

In addition, Angstrom Lighting has designed a special 30th anniversary logo to be displayed on limited edition T-shirts and jackets. Customers can win merchandise on the company website.

“We’re very excited about the plans for our 30th year. By taking the business to the next level with increased services and expanded facilities, we’ll be able to serve a wider audience,” says Frans Klinkenberg, president and a founder of Angstrom Lighting. “What started out in an apartment on Fareholm Avenue 30 years ago with just a few lights and cable has grown into a business that has touched almost every aspect of Hollywood. It has been an honor to work with some of the best lighting designers in the world and to manage some of the best employees in the business.”

In an industry that has low employee retention, Angstrom Lighting has an excellent longevity record; most of its employees have been with the company for at least five years, and many have celebrated more than fifteen years of service. These employees are the backbone of Angstrom Lighting’s ability to provide customer service that is personable, knowledgeable, and reliable.

Over the past three decades, Angstrom Lighting has illuminated the streets of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame as well as those of Universal Studios-Hollywood’s back lot; they have added flair to the stages of countless productions from Dance Kaleidoscope to Jesus Christ Superstar, and provided drama to the Governor’s Ball and the Hollywood Bowl. A broad spectrum of businesses and individuals depend on Angstrom Lighting for their lighting and special effects needs.

“I first worked with Frans back in 1980,” said Jon Sipos, technical manager for Thinkwell Design and Production. “He and his team have always been an excellent resource for me whether I was designing lights for LA Ballet back in the 1980s or solving problems in Atlantic City for Thinkwell. I have always been able to rely on Angstrom to be there for me, regardless of the size or location of the production I’m working on.”
