Morpheus Lights Introduces New Ayrton Luminaires At LDI 2014

Las Vegas, NV November 14, 2014 - Morpheus Lights, the exclusive U.S. distributor of AYRTON™ LED luminaires, will present a dynamic 140-fixture display of the new RADICAL series of beam projectors at LDI 2014, Booth #2759, at the Las Vegas Convention Center from November 21 thru 23.

The exhibit will introduce the new MagicRing™-R1 projector, the next evolution in the Ayrton line of continuous-motion luminaires, in concert with the rest of RADICAL line: MagicBlade™‑R, Intellipix™‑R, MagicPanel™‑R, and MagicRing™‑R9.   In addition, the new NanoBeam™-S line of LED 5:1 Zoom Washlights will be shown.

Ayrton continues to prove itself as an industry leader in Digital Lighting, providing innovative and proprietary solutions for focusing LEDs into tight, collimated beams.  The RADICAL line couples revolutionary 67mm diameter, 4.5º collimator optics with OSRAM Ostar 15-watt RGBW multi-chip LEDs to project 100 candelas per lumen – two and a half times more beam output than a 7.5º 45mm collimator delivers.

MagicRing™‑R1: The New LED Beam Light

MagicRing‑R1 is the most recent addition to the RADICAL line.  An evolution of the popular WildBeam™‑R, which was introduced at LDI 2013, MagicRing-R1 features continuous pan and tilt in an astonishingly powerful and compact luminaire with a sharp, 4.5° beam and a crisp, clean design.

Optical output is at a record-breaking 90% efficiency – for a 2,500 lumen light shaft – from a fixture that pulls less than 150 watts!  With seven individually controllable emitters, the light engine can project a multitude of dynamic color effects in space. Seven beams can be animated around a central focus, with crisp delineation of the individual component beams remaining perfectly distinct.

MagicRing™‑R1 has advanced 3-phase stepper motors for snappy, dynamic moves under DMX positional control and whirling beam effects when in continuous pan or tilt mode – all at a great price point!

MagicRing™‑R9

MagicRing‑R9 is the most powerful luminaire in the RADICAL range. It’s also the most RADICAL in terms of its dimensions and its simply outrageous output. With an overall flux of 29,000 lumens and a centre beam luminous intensity of more than 3,200,000 candelas the R9 was created for situations that demand ultra-high intensity and a long throw beam projection. With unlimited continuous rotation on PAN / TILT axes driven by powerful three-phase stepper motors MagicRing‑R9 is designed to create volumetric effects in large performance spaces.

Sixty-one 4.5º collimators coupled with 15-watt RGBW LEDs are configured in four concentric rings around a center point to provide incredible graphic options.  MagicRing‑R9 can be controlled in a number of modes, depending on the user’s choice and programming time constraints. At minimum 18 control channels provide full motion control and access to a library of pre-programmed “macro” effects.  For fully pixel-mapped control, 256 channels are required.

MagicPanel™‑R

The MagicPanel™‑R is a new iteration of the LDI 2013 Award-winning MagicPanel™602, which has had huge international success since its launch in early 2013. With RADICAL series 4.5º collimator optics arranged in a 5 X 5 matrix, MagicPanel‑R produces more clearly defined aerial beams with a cleaner separation between them. This also reinforces the visual rendering of 3D volumetric effects and triples its effective range.

Featuring continuous pan and tilt and fitted with 25 x 15-watt LED RGBW sources, each MagicPanel‑R delivers overall flux of 11,500 lumens with center beam luminous intensity of 1,350,000 candelas. Overall power consumption is 450 watts.  The result is a visual perception of the beam output that is twice as bright as was achieved with the 7.5º 45 mm optics, for 30% less power.

IntelliPix™‑R LED Beam Projection Panel

IntelliPix™‑R is a modular beam projection panel which puts twenty-five independently controllable 4.5º LED emitters into a 5 x 5 array to project graphics and media far into the air with brightness never before imagined.  Connect multiple panels together in a semi-transparent wall to form a giant screen or, place them under glass to create a projection floor that can wrap a performing artist in dynamic columns of light.

IntelliPix‑R is a model of industrial design and mechanical engineering.  It assembles securely, with easily interlocking male and female components that align perfectly and mate instantly.

When assembled in the floor configuration, 16 support points per square meter distribute the load of a laminated glass floor effectively and permit the collimated beams to be projected vertically.  IntelliPix‑R is rated IP65 – ready to work rain or shine!  Control is via DMX-512 w/ RDM, Art-Net or Kling‑Net.

 New NandoBeam™‑S line of LED 5:1 Zoom Washlights – S3, S6 and S9

The NandoBeam family of LED washlights is growing.  NandoBeam™‑S3 and S6 units were introduced last year at LDI as pre-production fixtures.  Now, they’re ready to ship – and the newest addition to the line, NandoBeam™S9, will make its debut at LDI 2014, with delivery scheduled for January 2015.

NandoBeam fixtures have been designed primarily for use on concert stages and in television production. With quick and dynamic movement, and Ayrton’s fabulous RGBW color control – both in saturated color and pastels, NandoBeam™ units emit a powerful 8º column of light or zoom back to provide bright wash coverage at up to 40º.

NandoBeam™‑S3 puts 19 OSRAM Ostar RGBW LED emitters into a compact head with an 8” diameter lens. NandoBeam™‑S6 projects 37 emitters through a 9.5” lens.  With 55 emitters and a 10.6” diameter, NandoBeam™‑S9 is the biggest Nando on the block.  The center point LED is individually controllable, then groups of emitters are controlled in the progressing rings – with two rings for the S3, three for the S6 and four for S9.  Output is maximized via a next-generation active heat-pipe cooling system.  In addition to DMX-512 control w/ RDM via 5-pin XLRs, the S6 and S9 units also permit Art-Net control via ethercon connectors and have LUMEN RADIO wireless receivers as standard equipment.

Ayrton’s continuing focus is on developing fixtures that provide lighting designers with powerful, distinctive and exciting new tools. The goal is to create unique products that expand and explore all the possibilities of Digital Lighting.

Ayrton and Morpheus Lights look forward to meeting you on the show floor, and introducing you to these next-generation entertainment lighting products.  LDI 2014 ‑ Booth 2759.
