Live Design’s Backstage Disney Day combines design and technology at one of the world’s most technologically advanced theme parks. Here’s what Mickey and friends have in store for you on Friday, December 10, in an all-day event from 7am-11pm:
Panel Discussion with the World of Color Team:
Come meet the team responsible for the design and development of World of Color! Here you will have the opportunity to hear from the individuals who helped bring this show to life. You will meet in the World of Color guest viewing area prior to the opening of Disney California Adventure and be treated to a sample of the technical elements of the show.
Backstage Tour of the Hyperion Theater:
The Hyperion Theater is home to the current Disney’s Aladdin-A Musical Spectacular. You will get a guided tour of the theater under the guidance of our technical experts as they discuss audio, lighting, rigging and automation for the show. Later in the day you will have an opportunity to experience the show as a guest.
Parade Costuming and Cosmetology:
Tour the facility where hundreds of our performers prepare for our daily parades for both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Talk to our cosmetologists who are responsible for the many performance wigs worn throughout the resort.
Parade Float Technology and Parade Route Audio:
Disney is known for parades. While touring our parade facilities, you will hear from one of our technical directors who will discuss the design and operation of our moving stages. You will also hear about the technology of our control rooms that make our parades a special part of our guest experience.
Pyrotechnics at a Disney Theme Park:
Here you will experience the technology behind our aerial pyrotechnic displays that have been part of our Disney tradition since 1956. You will tour our launch facility and meet the experts who will demonstrate how it’s done.
ElecTRONica:
Enter the interactive digital world of TRON and explore our newest nighttime experience. You will meet with our technical team to discuss the use of video, audio and lighting that brings the Hollywood Pictures Backlot to life.
World of Color:
Tour the control rooms and experience some of the technology up close. Our technical team will demonstrate how the show operates from a technician's perspective. Conclude your day by experiencing World of Color as a special guest.
