11:45am-2pm: Manufacturers Showcase/Lunch, or Kevin Lee Allen, Lighting Design Expressed Through Vectorworks Spotlight

2-3:30pm: Beverly Emmons & Clifton Taylor—The Languages of Color: Shedding Light On A Colorful Subject; Helping designers let go of unconscious fears of color, this session focuses on a deeper understanding of the dominant (and recessive) wavelengths underlying the choices you make. Use color with more confidence, learn to recognize color palette "issues" and acquire the tools to dynamically find color solutions before and during the cueing process.

3:45-5:15pm: Richard Pilbrow & Tony Walton— Broadway Lighting, A Critique. Moderator: Jules Fisher..... Two legends of the theatre–Richard Pilbrow and Tony Walton—sit down to dissect several shows currently playing on Broadway in an honest and thought-provoking discussion of the state of lighting design for the theatre.

5:15-7:30pm: Reception, Live Design Excellence and Lighting Products of the Year Awards, and Backstage Legends and Masters: A Conversation with Artie Siccardi: a discussion with the legendary Broadway production supervisor Artie Siccardi, in collaboration with Purchase College, SUNY

9-10:30am: Jennifer Tipton, Lighting Dance, Opera, and Theater: A Life In The Performing Arts

10:45-12:15am: Donald Holder: Where Is The Light Coming From, And Why Is It There? A conversation about the genesis of a design: how the understanding of intention, objective and point of view informs almost every aspect of the lighting designer’s decision-making process, from selection of equipment and layout of the plot to the conceptualization and construction of light cues. A look at specific examples from several Broadway productions including Spiderman-Turn Off The Dark, South Pacific, The Lion King, Ragtime, Radio Golf, and Smash, Season One (NBC-Dreamworks).

12:15am-2:30pm: Manufacturers Showcase/Lunch, or Rob Halliday on “FocusTrack”

2:30pm-4pm: Peggy Eisenhauer, Cueing the Musical: Finding Themes in Timing, Rhythm and Motion. Peggy Eisenhauer, Jules Fisher's design partner, will discuss their method to breakdown musical cueing into rhythmic sequences. By using examples from their hit films and specially recorded visual demonstrations, she will describe the themesspecifically chosen for each musical genre, as well as a dissection of rhythmic themes common to many types of contemporary music.

4:15-5:45pm: Wendall K. Harrington, A Lighting Designers Guide to Projection: A Defense Manual. Light, like life, wants balance, community and ultimately joy, but adding Projection to the plot can be both pain and paradise for the LD. This talk aims to illuminate the basic facts and endless possibilities of the collaboration of light and projection.
