Donald Holder

Donald Holder has received numerous Tony Award nominations, winning for the Lincoln Center Theatre revival of South Pacific in 2008, and for Disney's The Lion King in 1998, for which he also won the Drama Desk Award. Among the many Broadway productions for which he has designed the lighting are the revival of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Cyrano de Bergerac with Kevin Kline, Radio Golf, Movin' Out, The Times They Are A-Changin', A Streetcar Named Desire, and Prelude To A Kiss. He has also desgned extensively for Off Broadway and for such operas as Grendel and Julie Taymor's The Magic Flute at The Metropolitan Opera. He is currently working on the lighting for the Broadway production of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, and lit the current Broadway revival of Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia. He served as head of lighting design at the California Institute of the Arts.
