Live Design Projection Master Classes Features Outstanding Faculty And Technical Insights

The new XL LED Lab in SoHo (New York City) will host the 2008 Live Design Master Classes on Monday, May 19, 2008. Faculty members for this one-day, in-depth exploration of projection design and technology include designers Zachary Borovay, Patrick Dierson, Bruce Rodgers, and David I. Taylor—who will explore all angles of projection from Broadway musicals to concert tours and permanent installations—as well as projection experts Sean Cagney, Josh Fleitell, Tommy Hague, and Lars Pederson who will discuss the technical aspects of creating sharper images for a variety of applications. In addition, Marcel DeKeyzer, president of XL Video will introduce attendees to the brand new XL LED Lab, which showcases full-scale LED product installations. Within this unique environment, DeKeyzer will highlight the range of LED video and digital lighting technology products that are available and how designers are integrating them into all types of projects.

Corporate sponsors for the Projection Master Classes include Coolux, creators of the Pandora's Box media server, with Steve Gilbard on hand to talk about convergence and digital lighting. In addition, United Visual Artists will look at how visualization and playback control of content for creative video, LED, and lighting products is evolving. They will talk about how that evolution was part of the development of the d3 three-dimensional show production & playback suite that allows mapping and control of content to a wide variety of display devices, even with different pixel density and type. Recent projects showing how designers and programmers are using this evolving technology will be discussed.
