9:00-10:30am: Jeff Ravitz, An Overview Of Concert Lighting Design: An exciting perspective from a top designer with more than 20 years lighting Bruce Springsteen and other major concert tours.

10:45am-12:15pm: Jim Lenahan & Steve Cohen present Concert Lighting Design: The Blank Page: Once an idea is approved, what happens next? Set design: do you design your own set? Collaborating with the production team and artist for creative concerns. Techniques of designing, as in evolving the design from a nugget of an idea, illustrating it, drafting it, revising content creation. I-Mag: help or hindrance, how to deal with it.

12:15-2:15pm Lunch and technology presentations

2:15-3:45pm: Anne Militello, The Art of Thinking Differently: The concert design process and avoiding the formula, including a discussion of finding the most artful solution for any budget.

4:00-5:30pm: Fixture Choices: Spots. Washes, Conventional, Automated, & LEDs: Anne Militello, Jim Lenahan, Steve Cohen, Butch Allen, Jeff Ravitz: A panel of top designers talk about why and when they choose particular instrument types, with examples and demonstrations.

9:00-10:30am: Patrick Dierson & Arnold Serame, Programmers: The Design Perspective From Behind The Console: The programmer's role and how they extend the reach of the designer; The designer who programs his/her own show. Advantages? Pitfalls? How to get the most from a programmer.

10:45am-12:15pm:Bob Bonniol, Tim LaValley, & Amy Tinkham: Projection & Video: Is it lighting? Is it scenery? Where to begin in the content and screen design process, and how to integrate. Who does it? The LD or a dedicated video/content designer?

12:15-2:15pm Lunch and technology presentations

2:15-3:45pm: Jeff Ravitz: The Business of Designing: Important business considerations fromHow you get jobs and getting what you deserve to contracts and value added services you can offer to sweeten your deal.

4:00-5:30pm: Willie Williams: U2360: Before, During & After: Creating the highest grossing concert tour of all time doesn't happen overnight. U2's 360 tour was a five-year project for Willie Williams, the show's designer and director. The show itself has been well documented, but in this session Willie outlines how U2360 was the culmination of his 30 year collaboration with the band, how a seemingly impossible design was realized, and what on earth comes next.
