Who's Doing What

Lighting designer Cindy Limauro has designed a new production of The Magic Flute for the Pittsburgh Opera, opening this month, and a Balanchine Fest for the Pittsburgh Ballet set to open in April. She is also a visiting professor at Higher Institute of Architectural Sciences, Henry Van de Velde, in Belgium, having created a first-of-its-kind course using a light lab and teaching both theatrical and architectural lighting design to architecture students. The Mayor of Antwerp even gave Limauro a real project to use in class last year, which was later implemented: designing the lighting for the exterior façade of the Royal Museum of Arts. The city installed the student design last summer, and it was inaugurated in September 2006. Limauro also continues to be active in the planning of the Prague Quadrennial, which takes place in June.
