Who's Doing What

Lighting designer and director Dan Boland was on the road this fall with Blue Man Group's tour, sharing lighting director duties with Benny Kirkham. The tour is currently on a break and picks back up in February. In the spring, Boland will be designing a new tour for Tori Amos in support of a new album and is expected to go out from May to October.

Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is opening a production of The Producers in February, with the original creative team, including Susan Stroman as director and choreographer, set design by Robin Wagner, costume design by William Ivey Long, and lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski.

Clifton Taylor worked in Vienna last month on the scenery and lighting design for Pamina Devi (a full-evening theatre work based on Mozart's Magic Flute) for Peter Sellars' New Crowned Hope festival. Conceived and directed by Sophiline Cheam Shapiro, it ran in mid-December at the Schlosstheater Schonnbrunn. Taylor has also designed lighting for Karole Armitage's new ballet, Gamelon Gardens for the Ailey Company and is currently working on Hasbro Toys International Toyfair in Nurnberg, Germany.

LD Clayton Alexander of Westlake Village, CA-based Radiance Lightworks completed Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood in October, brought back after a five-year hiatus. Alexander also worked on Kidzaam in Prescott, AZ, the first themed pediatric dentistry facility of its kind, for which Scenery West designed and fabricated all of the scenery.
