What I'm Using Now

PANTONE® COLOR CUE

This is a little scanner that gives you the Pantone reference color from pretty much any surface — really useful for recording color preferences of clients, getting color info from their graphics, so on and so forth.

TREO 600 PDA/PHONE

A brilliant combination of Palm Pilot and phone functionality — an office in your hand, and now I can lose all my important data in one go.

FREETIME TIMECODE CALCULATOR

This is a small, simple, free, and completely brilliant piece of Palm Pilot software, written by Peter Gray. Ever wonder what five minutes divided by 23 frames is? FreeTime can answer that question and a million other timecode/edgecode arithmetic questions. FreeTime can add, subtract, divide, and multiply any one of a number of different timecode/edgecode formats. All calculations are performed in frame counts so they are accurate to the frame. Any value can be converted (with pulldown and frame-rate conversions) to any other format. This piece of software is invaluable for anyone programming time code shows, and it's free!
