Viva Lightfair in Las Vegas

Lightfair International 98 will hit The Strip May 27-29, drawing over 12,000 architectural, engineering and design professionals to the Las Vegas Convention Center. Now in its ninth year, the architectural and commercial lighting trade show, sponsored by the IALD and IESNA, will showcase the newest products from more than 350 exhibiting manufacturers in over 900 booths.

On the show floor, attendees can check out the latest technology in categories including: commercial lighting, controls, specialty fixtures and equipment, decorative and custom fixtures, industrial lighting, lamps and ballasts, outdoor lighting, emergency lighting, recessed lighting, and entertainment lighting. A popular event, the New Product Showcase, will return this year with a new twist: a jury of lighting professionals will present The Best New Product of the Year Award along with new honors including the Technical Innovation Award, the Energy Award, the Design Excellence Award, and Category Innovator Awards.

Also new to Lightfair this year is the www.lightfair.com Cafe, which will feature the Lightfair International, inter.light, and Quality of Lighting websites all three days of the show. For those interested in the global marketplace, Lightfair will also host the International Lighting Pavilion, showcasing international products and services.

In addition to filling the exhibit halls, Lightfair has planned a comprehensive seminar track, beginning May 26 with a special pre-show conference. Among the five workshops to be offered is a full-day workshop entitled Fiber Optics: Design, Installation, and New Technologies, to address issues involving fiber-optic lighting. The workshop is organized and sponsored by Lighting Dimensions magazine.
