Veteran Consultants Form Virtual Firm

A group of veterans in the theatre-consulting world have joined forces as Theatre Consultants Collaborative, LLC, a multi-disciplinary firm specializing in the planning and design of performance facilities. The seven members come with diverse backgrounds in architecture, theatre planning and design, and lighting, rigging and sound design.

Based on the idea of a “virtual office,” TCC will serve its clients as a network of independent consultants in the United States and Canada. “We felt that the best way to meet client needs was under the auspices of a new firm with the freedom to structure ourselves differently,” co-founder Robert Long says. Long and several members of the team are based in North Carolina, for example, others are based in Toronto and New York. Each project team is tailored to meet the specific demands of a project, drawing on the broad range of expertise within the collaborative. This approach ensures that each project is served seamlessly in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.

In addition to Robert Long, other consultants in the firm are Cyril Almey, Benjamin Boltin, Curtis Kasefang, Jason Prichard, Kyle Smith, and Athos Zaghi-five of whom are alumni of Theatre Projects Consultants. “Collectively, we have amassed nearly 50 years of experience at Theatre Projects; we are appreciative of our time there and the vast knowledge that we have gained from our association with Richard Pilbrow and our other colleagues,” Long says.
