New York University's Tisch School of the Arts Department of Design for Stage and Film held its annual Student Design Showcase, highlighting the work of its 2006 MFA class, May 3 to 10. Twenty graduating students showed off their design wares in the film and theatre set, costume, and lighting design disciplines. The class is comprised of eight set, one set/costume, seven costume, and four lighting designers.
A special opening reception on May 2 allowed NYU alumni, theatre and film design professionals to preview the talent of the 2006 class by viewing their work on productions and studio projects in a variety of formats, including scale models for theatre and film, costumes, photographs, and sketches. Our sketchbook highlights a few of these budding talents, coming soon to a theatre near you.
