Robert Bell has joined Rosco/Entertainment Technology as Horizon product manager. Bell, a founder of CAST Lighting Limited, is considered to be the father of CAST's WYSIWYG software. He is also a leading board operator and lighting designer, and recently founded Shock Lighting, which handles board op and lighting design projects.
Cooper Lighting (www.cooperlighting.com) has named Jeff Bucar its vice president of US sales. Bucar has served Cooper and Halo Lighting for 21 years.

The Gilbert V. Hemsley Jr. Internship in Lighting is accepting applications for the 18th annual Internship Program with the New York City Ballet and New York City Opera. Applications for the internship must be received by February 15; interviews for finalists will be held in New York City in early April. Candidates should submit a resume, a one-page statement of personal goals and anticipated benefits from the internship, and three letters of recommendation. The selected intern will begin in June 2001 and continue until the end of February 2002. The program includes experience with the Lincoln Center International Arts Festival, New York City Opera, and the New York City Ballet, as well as additional opportunities outside of Lincoln Center. A small monthly stipend is provided in addition to travel expenses. In memoriam: John Bury, 75, the set designer, LD, and consultant best known for his work with Peter Hall; in Gloucestershire, England, last November 12. He won two Tony Awards, for best set design and lighting design, in 1981 for Amadeus, his biggest commercial and popular success with Hall.
