Established for USITT by The Entertainment Technology Show-LDI in conjunction with Entertainment Design and Lighting Dimensions magazines, the Rising Star Award will be presented annually to a young professional at the beginning of his or her career. The award recognizes excellence and artistic achievement in the areas of scenic, lighting, sound, and projection design, or the convergence of these design disciplines. Nominations for the inaugural award in 2005 are due October 25, 2004.
