J-Series

d&b audiotechnik

The J-Series consists of the J8 and J12 full range loudspeakers and the J-SUB cardioid subwoofer, which are acoustically matched and constructed to be mechanically compatible, both in flown or ground stacked arrays. Using the same driver complement, vertical directivity, size, weight, and rigging fittings, the three-way J8 and J12 loudspeakers utilize an active crossover between the low and mid frequencies and a passive crossover between the mid and high frequencies. Both loudspeakers produce a flat vertical wave front and a symmetrical horizontal constant directivity dispersion pattern of 80° and 120° respectively; this is maintained down to 250Hz. The extremely high output capability of the J8 can cover a distance range of over 330' (100m), while the J12's wider horizontal coverage is useful for short and medium throw applications, up to 130' (40m). The J-SUB is a bass-reflex design using three 18"-high excursion drivers, one of which radiates to the rear to produce cardioid or hypercardioid subwoofer performance, both in flown and ground stacked configurations. The J8, J12, and J-SUB produce maximum sound pressure levels at one meter of 145dB, 143dB, and 138dB respectively. All the components required to suspend the loudspeakers within the custom three-point BGV C1 compliant J-Series flying system are integrated into the cabinets. The d&b Array-Calc program uses a sophisticated mathematical model to predict the physical and acoustical performance of arrays, enabling simple and accurate system planning. When the appropriate two-way active configurations are selected, a d&b D12 amplifier can power a maximum of two J8 or J12 or one J-SUB.

Live 8 Console

Soundcraft

Live 8 is aimed at FOH mixing for venues. A development of the Spirit 8 desk, it is an affordable and well-featured console that is built around a solid steel chassis with individual channel PCBs and a classic operation topology for ease of use. Various frame sizes hold from 16 to 40 mono inputs, which, when combined with two stereo input channels and eight stereo returns, mean an input capacity of 60 inputs in a very compact frame. An integral meterbridge with LED bar graph meters indicates all input and main output levels. The desk uses the high-performance UltraMic+ mic preamp capable of handling a wide range of input signals without padding, individually switched +48V phantom power, and a comprehensive four-band equalizer with swept mid-band sections on each mono input. Six auxiliary buses, four mute groups, and a long-throw 100mm fader complete the input channel, which can be routed to eight subgroups and the main stereo mix. Two full-function stereo inputs provide gain settings for pro and semi-pro equipment, a two-band equalizer, and six aux sends, as well as the four mute groups, and routing to the eight subgroup and mix busses. The output section is complemented by an integral 10×2 matrix section, and the desk is supplied with a new design of lightweight switched-mode power supply.

Wireless DX100 Intercom

HME

The DX100 operates outside of crowded UHF and VHF bands, eliminating static and interference. This frequency-hopping spread spectrum system with digital encryption prevents unauthorized personnel from hearing or interrupting communication. Both antenna and time diversity are used to locate the strongest signal and ensure clear, concise communication. It operates in the 2.4GHz frequency band, which allows for worldwide, license-free communication. Additional features include voice prompts, such as audible low battery, out-of-range, and other operational messages. The base station user can also unlatch all belt packs if one of the users has removed it and forgotten to unlatch the transmitter. The system includes a base station, headsets, belt packs with rechargeable batteries and pouches, and a battery charger. The expandable system can work with up to fifteen packs in full-duplex mode with as many as four actively transmitting. It operates on six AA batteries.

OpticalCon®

Neutrik

Neutrik has created the OpticalCon® in order to increase the reliability and maximize the uptime for fiber optic connection systems. The new system is based on a standard optical LC-Duplex connection; however, it improves on this original design to ensure a safe connection. It enables up to four copper wires to run power or data signals through. A special SMPTE-version has been optimized for broadcast applications, which provides an additional ground-shell contact. In order to create a simplified installation, one can connect a conventional LC-Duplex connector on the rear, which causes the chassis connector to act as a feed-through. The cable connector comes pre-assembled with a choice of three mobile field cables, which can be ordered at almost any length. It features a rugged connection, all metal housing, and heavy-duty cable retention. The optical connection cables are protected from dust and dirt through automatic sealing covers and gaskets. OpticalCon uses conventional LC connectors, which are easy to clean, and has a Push-Pull locking mechanism. In addition, the colored labeling plates are included to identify the fiber mode.

Nexera LX 19°-26° Profile

Wybron

The Nexera LX 19°-26° Profile luminaire is part of Wybron's family of luminaires with a built-in CMY dichroic color mixing system. The integral color-mixing module produces a virtually unlimited color palette via CMY subtractive mixing, featuring an exceptional range of control with seamless transitions between colors. The fixture provides hard edge illumination in an adjustable field from 19° to 26°. The dual lens system gives superior light output, so even at longer throw distances, the brightness doesn't suffer. Using a high output, compact tungsten 575W source — the preferred source for theatre and television — it provides a high level of light output and beam uniformity. The convection cooling system allows for virtually silent operation while maintaining optimal light output. Each unit requires three DMX channels, so it is easy to use and patch, even on the simplest of control consoles. The system is RDM-compatible, giving designers additional capabilities. As with all Wybron products, Nexera is made in the USA.
