Lamina Ceramics BL-4000 series LEDs

Lamina's BL-4000 series of 120-lumen light engines makes possible applications that until now could only be accomplished with traditional lighting sources. Anchoring the BL-4000 series is an RGB light engine that produces up to 16 million blended colors — including white with variable color temperature — and a 5,500°K white-only light engine with a color rendition index of 78, which is suitable for many architectural lighting applications. They are designed for popular drive currents and feature integrated protection from electrostatic discharge. The Lamina BL-4000 RGB+ LED array has independent input/output 3-channel color connections for dynamic or preset display of colors, delivering blended RGB light through additive mixing. A wide range of white color temperatures can also be produced. The RGB+ light engine has a red, green, and blue LED die within each light engine, a feature made possible with Lamina's packaging technology. Lamina's LED arrays combine high brightness LEDs with Lamina's proprietary packaging technology: multi-layer low temperature co-fired ceramic-on-metal (LTCC-M). LTCC-M allows Lamina to densely cluster multiple LEDs to achieve high luminous intensity in very small footprints. Other Lamina arrays are available in white, RGB, and monochrome, from 1W to 100W and also in custom packages up to 1000W.

VIDEO

ArKaos ArKaos VJ 3.5

ArKaos launched the latest version of its popular video jockey software, ArKaos VJ 3.5, which adds FreeFrame plug-ins support, Firewire video output, a new automation mode, new DMX fixture-based protocol, and a new positional effect. FreeFrame is an open source framework for video plug-in development. By adding Free-Frame support, ArKaos enables VJ users to access a library of third-party effect plug-ins. VJ 3.5 will include a bundle of FreeFrame effects. VJ now supports real-time video output through Firewire connection (Mac and PC) for the recording of live performance and connection to digital mixers. A new automation mode stacks movies and effects for a smooth automated performance. The new fixture-based protocol mode accommodates high-end DMX consoles, whereby the DMX controls are split into several layers, and designers can use pre-assigned parameters to choose and control visuals and effects for each layer. A new positional effect allows the control of visuals on a 3D plane using either MIDI or DMX controllers. The application is compatible with the latest versions of Mac OS X, Mac OS 9.x, Window 2000, and Windows XP.

MA Lighting grandMA Video

grandMA Video is a new software tool for lighting designers and programmers. It is capable of controlling any PC server hardware and its connected video projector via a grandMA console. MA Lighting also offers an integrated system solution that includes the Publitec proVideor 19" server hardware and beaMover moving video lights. grandMA Video is the only media server on the market that can be fully integrated into the network protocol of a lighting console and is not just triggered via DMX. Bi-directional communication between the grandMA console and grandMA Video is possible using MA-Net (via Ethernet). The grandMA console allows for direct access to the server and previews the content as thumbnails in the preset. Therefore, the PC can be placed directly at the projector or moving video light eliminating the need for long video cables. grandMA Video can also be set up in such a way that only the used function and layer parameters take up available parameter capacity, increasing the system's performance and ease of operation. Each grandMA Video application can use up to 201 parameters when working with six layers and the master layer.

AUDIO

Cadac D16 Digital Mix Matrix

The D16 Digital Mix Matrix is a digital audio processing engine in a compact 19" rack unit. The D16 provides 16×16 variable gain audio matrix designed for operation as a standalone or as an expansion mixer for use with any audio console. It has 96kHz, 24-bit sampling and SHARC DSP processing with proprietary Cadac mix, EQ, and dynamics algorithms. It incorporates a 6-band equalizer including four bands of fully parametric EQ, modeled on Cadac's J-Type Live production console. Each channel also provides high and low pass filters, compression and gating dynamics control, plus adjustable level routing to the 16 mix outputs. D16 has full local and remote control, via the front panel and/or Cadac's Sound Automation Manager (SAM) software. Using SAM, MIDI control is possible, with an auto-learn facility that allows physical control of D16 parameters from any external MIDI device (or MIDI-enabled console). As an expansion mixer, the D16 is suited to provide extra output bussing when connected to the master section of a console. With SAM, the D16 can recall all routing, gain, and EQ settings on a cue-by-cue basis. SAM can provide control over multiple D16/M16 units and automated Cadac consoles. It interfaces directly with the Cadac M16 16-channel remote control mike preamp. It is also immune from receiving or transmitting radio frequency interference.

STAGING

Rose Brand/Triple E 3-Way Track

Rose Brand introduced the 3-Way Track, a low-profile compact medium-weight system. The 3-Way Track is quiet and easy to install. It uses the same components for straight and curved applications. The track reduces the number of components required by incorporating rope guides within the track, as one master carrier rope clamp travels the extrusion. The four-wheel master carrier comes with a molded shuttle. The three-way single carriers are available with either ball bearing wheels or plain nylon wheels depending on the application. The 3-Way Track incorporates a central t-slot on the top to accommodate channel nuts that drop in, rotate 90°, and lock. There are t-slots to accept the joint connectors and the head and return pulleys at both ends of the track. The head and return pulley housings are in the extrusion itself and are used for both straight and curved layouts.

Niscon Raynok S-400 Motion Controller

Raynok S-400 Motion Controller is the heart of the Raynok motion control system — a system designed to enhance the quality and efficiency of stage machinery within entertainment venues or touring productions. Raynok simplifies the efforts of the creative and technical teams to create fluid scenic imagery. Each of S-400's four axis ports are maintained under full DSP Servo Loop control and can manage axis controllers from a wide variety of manufacturers. In addition to the four closed loop axis control ports, the S-400 has seven dedicated programmable inputs per axis and 16 additional inputs and outputs (expandable to 32) for advanced programmable interlocks or triggers. An integrated display shows the status of the four axes and I/O; this information is also sent to the operator interfaces on the network. S-400 utilizes fast Ethernet communications and dedication processors. Communications with the Master Control Station are maintained at 20 times per second, updating the operator's screen in real time. S-400 is available as a rack mount or panel mount. The S-400 can be customized to perform specific, repetitive tasks, with dedicated slaving, dual encoders, or onboard cue storage.

Yamaha AFC loudspeaker

The Yamaha AFC loudspeaker was developed for fixed applications and is the audio reinforcement component for Yamaha's Active Field Control (AFC) system. AFC shapes and corrects a room's acoustics to provide a more realistic sound environment, enabling natural enhancements in major auditory impressions like reverberation, loudness, and spaciousness. AFC differs from other systems in that it enhances the sound field through a feedback loop rather than reproducing the sound directly through loudspeakers aimed at the audience. The AFC loudspeaker, designed with a single 8" coaxial acoustic suspension transducer and custom crossover network, ensures that the AFC process works effectively, with smooth response and wide dispersion. Speakers are available as a low-profile enclosure (S8AFC; 17" H × 12.5" W × 9.5" D) or as a single driver (S8AFC-D; 8" R × 5" D). The S8AFC enclosure exteriors include preset holes to accommodate hardware. The S8AFC-D drivers can be retrofitted into standard speaker cans. The AFC loudspeaker is designed to meet the growing demand for variable acoustic systems in multi-purpose venues such as performing arts centers, houses of worship, and public spaces.
