PRG acquires London companies, announces name change

PRG Lighting Group welcomes two London-based firms into the fold: Midnight Design Ltd. and The Spot Company. The acquisition is part of PRG's plan to become a stronger player in the European market.

Midnight Design, a corporate theatre lighting company, will continue to be run by its two principal officers, Dave Bryant and Mike Townsend. The Spot Co. provides lighting services and equipment to the special event market. Directors Ben Sullivan and Michael "Jaggy" Scullion say that joining PRG "allows us to retain our individuality while bringing an expanded line of products and services to our customers."

Alan Thomson, who has joined the Lighting Group as a director of Light & Sound Design Ltd., will help integrate Midnight Design and The Spot Co. into the PRG Lighting Group. "I'll be incorporating and assisting in the development of both businesses," says Thompson. "We will concentrate on the corporate theatre markets, with expansion into theatre, a market where PRG and I have our roots, via Midnight Design. Additionally, we will continue expanding The Spot Co.'s particular niche of movie launches, festivals, and high-class events."

In other PRG news, Scenic Technologies and Harris Production Services (HPS) have announced that the companies are changing their names to Entolo (meaning "whole" or "complete") to reflect the companies' expanded services and locations. The name change will occur over a six-month period, and the two companies will continue to be based in New Windsor, NY, and Manhattan. Entolo, a Production Resource Group (PRG) company, is also the umbrella for the newly acquired Atlanta-based Total Technical Excellence, Inc., which operates as TTE Scenic Studio, engineering and fabricating scenic environments for corporate events, industrials, and theatrical shows.
