The ninth annual Pro Audio & Light Asia (PALA) show will be held July 14-16 at the World Trade Centre in Singapore. This year's edition will include special sections for pro audio, pro lighting, audio broadcast, visual communications, and sound communications, plus the premiere of Music Asia '97, which organizer IIR Exhibitions Pte Ltd. says is "an indicator of the commitment of IIR to make this show a venue for live music production."
Lighting is not being stinted at the show, which will occupy 16,000 sq. m (52,800 sq. ft.) of floor space at the venue. IIR expects the show to be about 35% bigger than last year's event, which attracted 350 exhibitors and 5,135 attendees from 37 countries. On the lighting side, exhibitors will include Martin, High End Systems, Clay Paky, Pulsar, Numark, and Avolites. Special events will include a lighting shootout showcase and the PALA DJ competition.
