Live Design was onsite to report on more than 800 people attending the recent inauguration ceremony for PR Lighting Ltd.'s new Hi-Tech Science Park in Panyu, Guangzhou, China. Distributors, customers, employees, and friends from around the world were on hand to explore the nearly 29,000-sq.m facility that includes offices, a state-of-the-art factory, and lighting exhibition center with theatre and TV studio specifications. PR Lighting manufactures and exports approximately 70% of its products to more than 60 countries in Europe, the Americas, and Asia, and employs nearly 600 people.

Established 23 years ago, the company was the first Chinese lighting supplier to export its products outside of China, and it currently holds more than 50 patents in professional stage and architectural lighting. Its product range includes moving-head stage lighting, theatre washes, architectural lighting, LED products, and laser products, among others. The company also has a special R&D agreement with Philips Lighting that was officially signed into effect at the opening ceremony.

“We hope to continue expanding our technological horizons via a strong commitment to quality, technology, and the capability to produce on a large scale,” says PR Lighting's Cui Lin. Proving its commitment to safety with more than 200 CE- and UL-compliance certificates, as well as a strict implementation of the ISO9001 international quality standard, PR is continuing to focus its latest R&D efforts on stage and architectural lighting and also hopes to create a lighting industry union in China.
