Plans In Full Swing For The BLMC/BSMC

Plans are nearly set for this year's Broadway Lighting and Sound Master Classes, to be held June 16-20 at John Jay Theatre in New York City.

The 10th annual Broadway Lighting Master Classes, headed up by legendary lighting designer Jules Fisher, will be held on Wednesday, June 16 through Friday, June 18. Speakers confirmed for this year's event include Brian MacDevitt, Peggy Eisenhauer, Don Holder, Wendall Harrington, Vivien Leone, Beverly Emmons, and Clifton Taylor.

The second annual Broadway Sound Master Classes, headed up by legendary sound designer Abe Jacob, will be held on Friday, June 18 through Sunday, June 20. Speakers confirmed for this year's event include Tony Meola, Dan Moses Schreier, Rob Milburn, and John Kilgore. There will also be a special panel discussion of Broadway's top board operators, including Kai Harada, Jim van Bergen, and Valerie Spradling, among others.

In addition to the classes, participants will have the opportunity to see the brand new Broadway production of the Tony Kushner musical Caroline, Or Change, featuring lighting by Fisher and Eisenhauer and sound by Jon Weston, on Thursday, June 17; a brief post-show discussion will follow the performance, and a full session with the design team from the production will be held Friday, June 18.

All attendees will be invited to attend the annual Entertainment Design EDDY Awards, the industry's annual must-attend party, on Friday, June 18.
