For its Fancy-Free fluorescent downlight, Brooklyn, NY-based Neo-Ray Lighting won an APEX award at the 1997 Product Design Competition at the Interplan trade show. The award was announced October 29 in New York City by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and Contract Design magazine.
Twenty-two APEX awards in 10 categories, including lighting, were presented. Fancy-Free is a 1'x1' fluorescent downlight with a parabolic louver in the middle, for architectural and residential applications.
