LIGHTING

G-LEC LightFrame

The G-LEC LightFrame is a low-cost version of the ClassicFrame curtain, bringing transparency and lightweight features into the realm of the budget conscious. The LED displays and aluminum frame mounting are the same as the ClassicFrame; the big difference is that the LightFrame is on a smaller scale (each frame is approximately 3' × 3' and 20 lbs) and that it allows direct control of square groups of pixels by any DMX-512 control. It also can be easily flown by an in-house rig without structural reinforcement. Because of its light weight and adaptability, LightFrame is ideal for touring, theatre, industrials, and fixed installations.

ELC DMX Ethernet Converter

Leprecon Pro Lighting, exclusive distributor of ELC Products in the United States, is introducing the Node1 DMX to Ethernet converter. This unit is the only one of its kind to be programmable as a DMX input or DMX output. DmXLAN Node 1 is an Ethernet node allowing the conversion to Ethernet (Artnet protocol) of one DMX universe, input or output. For fixed installations, like theatres or conference centers, the cabinet will be mounted on the wall, with the display in front and the DMX connector pointing to the bottom. The Ethernet is connected internally through hardwire connection. In the truss-mount version, an Ethercon connector from Neutrik is placed beside the DMX socket. Node 1 is powered through the Ethernet cable, as specified by the IEEE 802.3 standard.

SOUND

Trantec S60001 Radio Mic System

Trantec Systems premiered its wireless S60001 radio mic system at the Pro Light and Sound Exhibition in Frankfurt. The Trantec S6001 is a single receiver version of the EDDY Award-winning S6000 rack-based system, packaged in a 1/2 width, 1U 19" rack box. The S6001 boasts an RF tuning range of 70MHz (CH 62-70) which makes it ideal for complex tours and foreign projects. The S6001 is capable of operating with user-defined frequency sets, programmed either via a USB port, or custom programmed to individual frequencies via the data wheel on the front panel. An Infra-Red (IrDA) port, also located on the front panel, allows communication between the transmitter and receiver and allows configuration of the receiver via a Palm Pilot, which can also program the transmitter. The unit's front panel display allows access to all the standard functions including frequency, user name, mute level, RF level A and B (diversity), deviation, Vu and constant battery monitoring. The S6001 is able to display all this information through the latest generation of vacuum fluorescent display (VFD), giving clarity in all environments.

Yamaha PM5D Console

The Yamaha PM5D Series combines the advanced features and self-contained design of the DM2000 with the operating style of the PM1D to create a new category of live performance digital mixing consoles for regional sound reinforcement companies, houses of worship, theatres, and educational facilities. Featuring a “one box” design — including the mix engine — the PM5D offers 64 input channels (48 mono + 4 Stereo analog inputs, 4 internal stereo returns) of dynamic 96 kHz audio with 32-bit internal processing. All onboard A/D and D/A conversions make use of true 24-bit/96kHz converters. Outputs include 24 mix, 2 stereo (ST A and B or L-C-R), 8 matrix, 8 Mute groups and 8 DCAs (Digitally Controlled Amplifiers). The PM5D functions without the use of a meter bridge. A Direct Out function routes signal from any of the 64 input channels directly to any other digital or analog output within the system. A 28 × 8 matrix system can provide cue monitor mixes, or zone level control for sound reinforcement. Dedicated cascade ports enable up to four PM5D units to function in tandem, or cascade with Yamaha DM2000 or 02R96 mixers. The PM5D will also integrate directly with the new Yamaha DME24N or DME64N for additional output processing and system control.

Klark Teknik DN370

The next generation of analogue graphic EQ, the DN370, is now available from Klark Teknik. The aim with DN370 is twofold: to enhance and modernize the existing range of Klark Teknik equalizers, and secondly to provide a unit that attracts customers who do not currently choose Klark Teknik graphics. KT's range now offers every possible combination of EQ in both analogue and digital formats and at several price points. The list of features includes: 45mm faders (with protective dust covers) that offer precise control of an entirely new configuration of the ‘proportional Q’ filter type for which Klark Teknik graphics are world famous. Aimed particularly at monitoring applications, each channel also offers two swept and overlapping 18dB notch filters with illuminated combined frequency and in/out rotary controls. Even greater control is provided by swept 12dB per octave high and low pass filters on each channel, allowing the frequency response of a given channel to be precisely tailored to its use. Housed in a sturdy 3RU steel chassis, all inputs and outputs are electronically balanced (with transformers as a factory option) with pin 2 hot throughout. Phoenix connectors are fitted to the rear panel as standard, and like all Klark Teknik products the DN370 carries a three-year international factory warranty.

EAW AX Series Loudspeakers

Eastern Acoustic Works, a LOUD Technologies Inc. brand, has a new series of arrayable loudspeakers that incorporate a coaxial MF/HF driver design to provide consistent coverage over a wide frequency range. To achieve this, the MF/HF driver assembly is coupled to a single horn, which occupies almost the entire front of the AX Series' enclosure. The EAW engineering team then incorporated their new Concentric Summation Array (CSA) technology, an advanced design based on their patented Radial Phase Plug, to solve the complex acoustic problems that generally prevent the coupling of a coaxial driver directly to a horn. The net result is a smooth frequency response, consistent polar patterns over a wide operating bandwidth and vocal clarity. The AX Series speakers are a true tri-axial design featuring a pair of 12" woofers are located on opposite ends of the enclosure, creating an acoustic origin on axis with the coaxial MF/HF driver. The spacing between these woofers provides exceptional pattern control at low frequencies.

Extron MTP Transmitter/Receiver

Extron Electronics' MTP T 15HD RS Transmitter and MTP R 15HD RS Receiver are compatible with resolutions up to 1600 × 1200 (UXGA) and support bi-directional serial communication. They are ideal for use where long distance cable runs (up to 500') are required, such as point-of-sale, digital signage, and kiosk applications. The MTP T 15HD RS and MTP R 15HD RS precisely optimize image quality for various UTP cable lengths, using adjustment controls on both the transmitter and receiver. The transmitter features a pre-peaking switch that provides additional compensation at the front end for the longest cable runs. The receiver offers individual variable gain and peaking controls, allowing users to dial in the exact amount of gain and peaking required for each unique cable run. The MTP transceivers are designed for easy integration into new and existing A/V environments, and can fit just about anywhere: in racks (up to four in a single 1U rack), under tables and desktops, or next to a projector.

Patternmaker Deluxe Editor

PatternMaker Software's Deluxe Editor version, featuring the Women's Vol. 1 Garment Collection, is now available. The software is designed to simplify the construction process: take just 16 measurements, choose garment, style options, and enter measurements, print pattern, assemble, cut, and sew. You can start with a custom-fit, pre-designed pattern, and use the CAD tools to customize it. Create patterns that actually fit the models, based on your measurements, not on sizes. The Deluxe version allows you to print full-sized patterns from your computer.
