Long-time client the World Wrestling Federation called on Bandit Lites and lighting/production designer Jason Robinson to supply a lighting system (with gear from Martin Professional, ETC, Flying Pig Systems, Strand Lighting, Diversitronics, Lycian, and Xenotech) to illuminate the Reliant Astrodome in Houston for its annual WrestleMania, held April 1. Bandit Lites also supplies the rigs for the weekly televised touring Raw is War and Smackdown productions by the WWF. Bandit has been the exclusive supplier of lighting to the WWF for over five years.

DHA Lighting Ltd. has appointed Exton H/F as its dealer in Iceland. It provides comprehensive support to DHA as a distributor of gobos, moving effects, and the DHA Gecko. In the Asia Pacific Region, DHA has long worked with Ken Production Services, Japan, but now adds Singapore-based DeSisti Asia, distributors of motion picture and television lighting equipment, to its list of resellers. In Israel, Danor Theatre Systems Ltd., a leading company in design, production, stage studio lighting, and control, becomes a reseller of the DHA Digital Light Curtain and moving effects. To serve Scandinavia, AVAB Sweden now stocks DHA gobos, while Svensk Film & Ljusteknik Sweden (SFL), and West Lighting, Finland, stock DHA gobos, moving effects, and the Gecko.

Israel-based lighting power supplies company Lightech Electronic Industries Ltd. has opened a Global Technology Center in Northern Lod Technology Park, Israel (developing what it says are the world's smallest and most energy-efficient low-voltage electronic transformers) and expanded its North American headquarters in Tampa, FL. Martin Professional held its annual Distributor Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner at the historic Danish restaurant Terrassen in hometown Aarhus on March 11. Sales and marketing director Pio Nahum presented the annual Martin Distributor Awards, which included distributor Erikson Pro of Canada collecting the top honor for Martin's Preferred Partner of the Year. According to Nahum, “Erikson Pro deserves this honor because of its outstanding professionalism and excellent performance in an often challenging market.” Martin Distributor Award winners included: Martin Subsidiary of the Year, Martin Professional France SA; Martin Lighting Distributor of the Year, A&T Trade, Russia; Touring Segment Distributor of the Year, ShowTechnology, Australia; Club/DJ Segment Distributor of the Year, Ecler, Spain; Architectural Segment Distributor of the Year, Istanbul Telesine, Turkey; Mach Speakers Distributor of the Year, Eivind H. The Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education has launched a website at www.nuckollsfund.org. Besides fund info, it allows educators to download material that describes how to apply for the three grants that are currently funded.

PLASA has relaunched its website, www.plasa.org, with new features including fully searchable databases.
