High Rollers Bling in the New Year

JJ Wulf of Wulf Designs in Las Vegas designed the lighting for an over-the-top New Year's party for Bellagio Hotel and Casino and MGM properties. “The job was unique in that almost all of the scenery was lit and controlled cued by several media servers,” says Wulf. “We wanted to have as much control of the atmosphere in the room as possible. High End Systems' Catalyst allowed us to have unlimited unique looks, which created the mood and setting for the party. It all came together to create a truly new type of look that is just starting to get attention in our industry. The party was quite the hit!”

With roughly 650 lights, the impressive rig for the event included 55 High End Systems Cyberlights®, 40 HES Studio Colors®, 90 VARI*LITE VL6Cs, 50 VL5 Arcs, 44 VL5s, 32 VL2416s, 25 Martin Professional Mac 200 Profiles, 180 ETC Source Four® lekos, 32 ACLs, and eight Diversitronics 3000 strobes. Two High End Systems Catalyst media servers with four outputs controlled 10 High End Systems DL-1 automated projectors, two Main Light Soft-LED curtains, 65 Element Labs LED Versa TUBEs, three 10K Christie projectors, and seven 5K Sanyo projectors. The system was cued and controlled by two Flying Pig Systems Wholehog® 3s, and all gear was provided by Patrick Little of PRG Las Vegas.
