At Lightfair, GE hosted its annual gala awards dinner aboard the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier on May 5. Awards of Excellence went to Pamela Hull Wilson for the Dallas Convention Center Expansion; Dale R. Boyce of Ring & DuChateau Inc., David Kahler of Kahler Slater Architects, and George S. Sexton III of George Sexton Associates for the Brise Soleil lighting at Calatrava's Milwaukee Art Museum addition; and Robert Daniels, who worked with Sergio Barkas and Bernardo Fort-Brescia of Arquitectonica on the facade and show illumination of the Golden Moon Hotel & Casino in Philadelphia, MS. This project also won GE's 20th annual Edison Award. Awards of Merit went to: Yarnell Associates for the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City; Suzanne Powadiuk Design for Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto; Rita Koltai for the Cuyahoga County Courthouse rotunda relighting in Cleveland; Ross De Alessi Lighting Design for the Pyramid Arena exterior lighting in Memphis; Naomi Miller Lighting Design for Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Albany; Cline Bettridge Bernstein Lighting Design for a corporate headquarters in Georgia; Creative Lighting Design & Engineering for Rocket Science at Cape Canaveral; and an award for Sustainable Design went to Benya Lighting Design and Soderstrom Architects for the Paul L. Boley Library at the Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, OR.
