ESTA ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF 2003 DEALERS' AND MANUFACTURERS' CHOICE AWARDS

ESTA (the Entertainment Services and Technology Association) gave out the 2003 Dealers' and Manufacturers' Choice Awards at ETS-LDI. The Dealers' Choice Customer Service Awards recognize superior performance in four main areas: customer service, shipping and billing, technical support and quotations/project management. (The awards are voted on by ESTA's manufacturer members.) The winners were: Doug Fleenor Design, City Theatrical, and Apollo Design Technology.

The Manufacturers' Choice Dealers of the Year Awards recognize superior performance in four main areas: staff, sales and marketing, inventory, and financial responsibility. (ESTA's dealer members are the voters in this category.) The winners were: Murphy Lighting Systems, Parlights, Vincent Lighting Systems.

The Dealers' Choice Product Awards recognize outstanding entertainment technology products in three categories: expendable, widget and equipment. In the expendable category, the winners were a tie between: Frosted Dichroic Glass Filter from Lee Filters,a product that combines color and diffusion in one filter, and the HPR 575/115 patent-pending high-performance tungsten halogen lamp from Osram Sylvania.

In the widget category, the winner was the E-String from Lex Products Corp. (See the previous story in BizWire).

In the equipment category, the winner was the Preset 10 from Doug Fleenor Design, a DMX512A snapshot device that records up to ten looks and plays them back at the press of a button.

The Manufacturers' and Dealers' Choice Awards were given out at the ESTA dinner, held on November 20, the night before the trade show floor opened. The Dealers' Choice Product Awards were given out at the LDI Awards ceremony on Saturday, November 22.
