Comments on energy conservation solicited

The joint American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers/Illuminating Engineering Society North America (ASHRAE/IESNA) committee on Standard 90.1 (Energy Conservation) will be meeting in Dallas next February. IESNA representative Gersil Kay welcomes comments from lighting specialists.

Some of the proposed issues to be reviewed are: Should both a Users' Manual and a standard be written, or can one document suffice? Should the text be in plain English or legalese? The committee will also examine the different types of buildings and their coverage under the standard. Readers of Lighting Dimensions are invited to submit written remarks prior to January 19, 2000, to: Ms. Gersil N. Kay, IESNA, Conservation Lighting International, 1901 Walnut Street, Suite 902, Philadelphia, PA 19103; fax: 215/568-4572.
