Backstage Las Vegas At LDI 2006

Armed with black tote bags adorned with Strand Lighting and Backstage Las Vegas logos, the 2006 Backstage group took in the sights and sounds of the hottest shows in town during the week of LDI. From performances of Love, Cirque du Soleil's latest permanent show (a tribute to the music of The Beatles), , Cirque's high-tech extravaganza at the MGM-Grand, and the latest version of Blue Man Group at The Venetian, to backstage tours of those theaters plus the Aqua Theatre at The Wynn Resort, home of Le Rêve, and the hotel's outdoor feature, Lake of Dreams, and a sneak previews of the new Playboy Club and Moon, the new nightclub at The Palms, Backstage Las Vegas saw it all, from the control rooms to the grids. “Backstage Vegas at LDI this year was a cornucopia of theatrical delights, a marathon journey through the world's most amazing feats of technical and design imagination,“ says LD Richard Pilbrow. “Thanks to LDI for inviting us on such a magical mystery tour.”

Special thanks to all those who made Backstage Las Vegas 2006 possible, including Blue Man Group (The Venetian): Paul Ackerman, Kate Webster; Cirque du Soleil, (MGM Grand): Calum Pearson, Jeanette Farmer; Love (The Mirage): Michael Anderson, Yves Aucoin, Alan Hills; Phantom of the Opera (The Venetian): Steven Ehrenberg (Live Nation); The Palms/Moon: Adam Wuertz; Le Rêve/Lake of Dreams (The Wynn): Rick Gray, Dale Hurt, Danny Murphy; and the great crew members all up and down The Strip that welcomed Backstage Las Vegas into their theatres.
