Petaluma, CA-based loudspeaker manufacturer Apogee Sound has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Bogen Communications International. The new company, called Apogee Sound International, LLC, will continue to design and manufacture advanced loudspeakers, amplifiers, signal processors and accessories for the pro audio industry. Ken DeLoria, who founded Apogee in 1984, was appointed president of the new company.
"This transaction has been some time in the making and I'm proud to announce that it formally closed in late August of this year", says DeLoria. "As a subsidiary of a public company, we now possess many strengths and abilities that will propel the growth of the company. Emphasis will be placed expanding our product line and cultivating new market segments. The synergies between the two companies will help each in turn increase in strength and value. I am extremely pleased with the opportunities and potential that this relationship affords."
The company will remain headquartered in northern California for the foreseeable future.
