LENEXA, Kan. - LynTec, a leading manufacturer of customized electrical power control for professional audio, video, and lighting (AVL) systems, will highlight its award-winning Remote Power Control Mobile (RPCM) power distribution panel at PLASA Focus: Baltimore 2014, taking place May 8-9 at the Reitz Arena of Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore.
"As LynTec's first exhibition on the East Coast, PLASA Focus: Baltimore is a prime opportunity for sound, lighting, and video professionals to learn how our power control and distribution solutions can deliver space, time, and cost savings," said Mark Bishop, president, LynTec. "The RPCM is the market's first intelligent mobile power distribution panel, bringing the dependable features from our popular RPC controller to a fully portable product. We'll also showcase our entire RPC line of remote power control systems for entertainment industry applications, including the RPCR relay panel and new features such as the market's only emergency auto-on function for egress lighting requirements."
A 2013 winner of a Live Design International (LDI) Award for Best Debuting Product of the Year, the RPCM is ideal for temporary live events in venues such as houses of worship, stadiums, and theaters. The system provides direct on/off control for LED lighting and takes loads out of standby mode by directly shutting down circuits -- reducing energy and system maintenance costs, and facilitating more sustainable setups -- within a portable roadcase design. The RPCM's switch-grade motorized circuit breakers provide remotely managed electrical protection and on/off control within a single enclosure. In addition, the unit offers current monitoring at the branch circuit level to enable real-time current draw on a branch breaker, phase, or panel basis. A built-in Web server enables users to monitor and control distribution with ease, directly on the network, from a Web interface on any browser-enabled smart device. The RPCM also interfaces with most third-party control systems using IP, DMX, and sACN protocols.
Also on display at PLASA Focus: Baltimore 2014, LynTec's Remote Power Controller (RPC) series panel version 2 combines the latest motorized breaker technology with a new and improved controller featuring more memory, a faster processor for real-time monitoring down to the circuit level, and the capacity to use multiple control protocols simultaneously -- now including sACN. These new features complement the device's onboard server with network or smart-device access, load-specified switch-grade motorized circuit breakers, built-in auto-off brownout protection using controlled circuit breaker shutdown and restart, optional sequential circuit level on/off capabilities, and the ability to interface with third-party control systems via contact closure, TCP/IP, DMX, or RS-232.
In addition, LynTec will display its award-winning RPCR relay panel. Ideal for houses of worship, schools, performing arts centers, auditoriums, and other large assembly spaces, the RPCR is the only relay panel built specifically for the entertainment industry. Based on LynTec's popular RPC series panel, the RPCR brings branch circuit control and monitoring to any existing breaker panel, regardless of brand, make, or model. The unit combines relay functionality with a built-in Web server to provide remote electrical control to applications, including LED lighting, powered amplifiers, and energy management programs. Additionally, a Web-enabled browser-based interface allows users to set up, troubleshoot, control, and monitor relay status remotely across existing networks, resulting in simpler, more efficient power management from any computer, tablet, or handheld smart device. The point-and-click interface enables users to set up zones easily, perform sequential on/off switching and scheduling, activate emergency overrides, and provide dependable brownout protection.
