New Product: PRG Mbox v4.2.2

The latest version of the PRG Mbox media server offers more power via application programming interfaces (APIs), along with a fully 64-bit code-base, and updated operating systems and hardware. The new UI allows for more-flexible and intuitive setup for outputs and content positioning. Features include single-layer crossfade, pixel-mapping ability, various playback options, and image remapping. The updated improves flexibility in video output quantity, size, and layout with up to 32 independently mastered outputs. Outputs can be independent or part of a system (with blend and overlap), can be duplicated or resized, and can be flipped and rotated.

Three versions of the software are available.Mbox Designer v4 includes every 2D and 3D feature for ultimate power and flexibility. Mbox Studio v4 scales back on the number of playback layers, pixel-mapping limits, and 3D capabilities but still has most key features. Mbox Mini v4 retains the core feature set for 2D content playback and manipulation but limits features and eliminates most 3D elements.

Designer v4 now supports up to 24 layers for playback, while Studio v4 supports up to 12, and Mini v4 supports up to six. All layers can be displayed simultaneously and can be any combination of 2D textures and 3D objects. This version allows transition of content on the same layer, and it can handle 4K playback and output, with an array of play modes and effects. Built-in keystone, warp, and projection mapping allow for complex projection setups on both standard screens and 3D scenic elements.

The other applications in the software family, Mbox Director and Mbox Remote, have also been enhanced to allow them to work seamlessly with the v4 software. prg.com
