New Product: MA Lighting grandMA3

MA Lighting has introduced its first new full range of consoles in nearly ten years with grandMA3, with redesigned system architecture for fixture, feature, and effects-handling. Full-size and light models feature multi-touch screen surfaces, with all encoder and playback information accessed directly on fully-configurable letterbox screens. With the ability to access Wide Area Networks (WAN), software updates, technical support, online help, and fixture downloads are all supported within that framework. Using MA-Net3 protocol, systems can output up to 250,000 parameters. Three sizes of processing units vary the parameter count. The consoles feature dual encoders, and feature-mapping of the encoders is customizable. Motorized playback faders are used across the entire range. The faders incorporate a color-changing light pipe on all models, except the onPC command wing. Flexible assignment of playbacks allows for 30% more playback handles than any previous grandMA console. All playbacks have direct access to button pushes as well as intensity and timing changes, due to the new rotary RGB backlit encoders. Nearly silent buttons have been newly developed, and backlit button-caps have been ergonomically optimized to reduce mishits. The console range software has a new effects concept allowing multi-step effect sequences to be nested inside a cue or preset. “Phasers” are treated like static parameter values and respect normal programming syntax. Fixture information is now generic and allows simpler sharing of programmed data between fixtures. MA Lighting supports the new GDTF (General Device Type Format) protocol natively, allowing fixture manufactures to ensure their own fixtures are controlled as intended. Additional features include a new processing engine with Intel® technology, integrated 3D visualizer, and the ability to manipulate and playback basic media content directly from within the console. All versions come with a full set of hardware connections suitable for Midi, LTC, audio in and out, local trigger inputs, and multiple Ethernet connections. onPC versions of the grandMA3 software are available for Windows 10 and macOS®. The new range is compatible with shows created on grandMA2 consoles. Where features allow, existing shows can be exported from grandMA2 software 3.4 for use in all grandMA3 consoles. The grandMA3 full-size and light console models also incorporate fully featured Mode2, which runs native grandMA2 software version 3.4 and later. MA Lighting products are distributed in the US by A.C.T Lighting. malighting.com or actlighting.com
