The top products of the past year are here once again. Chosen by our panels of prestigious judges in three categories—lighting, projection, and sound—several months were spent debating the Live Design 2014-2015 Products Of The Year. Congratulations to the teams that developed these products and all those who support them. The Lighting Product of the Year, Effect is Ayrton MagicBlade-R.
Ayrton has been delighting designers the last few years with panels and blades, with its MagicBlade™-R making our list this year. The fixture offers continuous double rotation on pan/tilt axes, with a unique layout of seven RGBW LED inline sources and a dramatic optics angle. Its intentionally small form factor allows installation in various positions and applications, and its extensive connectivity options allow it to be controlled by DMX-RDM, Art-Net™, or via LumenRadio™ DMX-RDM wireless connection. “Another great idea from Ayrton,” says one judge. “There is nothing quite like it at the moment, and it’s a terrific building block of a fixture to do all kinds of new and creative looks and ideas.”
