The Sounds of LDI: New Audio Products

The new generation of JBL's successful—nearly one million sold—EON series is the EON500. The 15” two-way EON515 has a total of 450W continuous power from Crown Class-D amps and weighs less than 33 pounds; the 10” two-way EON510 has 280 total watts and weighs 17lbs. Optional is the EON518S single 18” sub with 500W continuous power and a pole mount for sub/satellite applications.

DAS AUDIO LX-218

Meyer 500-HP Subwoofer
Intended for ground stacking or flying with a M’elodie array, Meyer Sound’s new 500-HP compact high-power subwoofer can be used with other systems as well, such as the UPJ-1P VariO and UPA-1P/2P. The 500-HP has two 12” woofers driven by onboard dual Class-AB/H amps for a 36 to 150 Hz response, with a peak SPL of 134 dB. In addition to QuickFly rigging hardware, options include weather protection and custom color finishes.

Soundcraft SI3 Console
The Si3 has 64 mono inputs, four stereo ins and 35 output buses (24 aux/group, eight matrixes and L/C/R main mix outs) in a single chassis. Standard are four onboard Lexicon effects processors, 12 VCA groups, eight mute groups and bargraph metering for all 35 bus outs. A touchscreen handles console setups, a Virtual Channel Strip with rotary encoders and OLEDs offers analog-style control, and its FaderGlow system puts a multicolor LED along the fader track to indicate which function is currently active. A redundant power supply module, MADI interfaces and AES/EBU input cards are optional.

DiGiCo SD8 Console
The SD8 provides the major features and remote preamps of the D Series in a small-footprint package. Stealth Digital Processing in its Tiger SHARC FX engine offers effects, reverbs, dynamics, output matrix, and more. Features include 37 moving faders, multi-function control knobs, electronic labeling, and a 15” touch-sensitive hi-res TFT display. All 24 channel faders and 12 assignable aux/master faders can be instantly assigned as channels or masters, allowing 36 main faders to control inputs, if desired. Sixty mono or stereo channels—the equivalent of 120 channels—can run full DSP simultaneously.

Neutrik ConvertCon
Neutrik introduces the world’s first unisex (male and female) 3-pin XLR connector. By simply sliding the housing back and forth, ConvertCON (NC3FM-C) is transformed from a male to female connector. Shares some of the features and benefits of Neutrik’s best-selling XLR XX series also has an improved chuck-type strain relief that provides higher pull-out force and makes assembly easier and faster. AKG C 214
The C 214 is a lower-cost (cardioid-only) version of AKG's classic C 414. The new model is a single-capsule, single-diaphragm design that delivers the same sonic performance as its legendary cousin, but at a retail of $649. The C 214's integrated capsule suspension minimizes chassis-borne noise and resonances. Also standard is a switchable -20dB pad and 160Hz low-cut filter. The die cast metal body provides road-tough construction quality with a scratch-resistant finish and a gold-plated XLR output. The C 214 is available now and ships with a spider-type shock-mount, windscreen and metal carrying case.
