A new range of single-end HMI metal halide lamps incorporates a doped Ultraviolet Stop (UVS) quartz outer jacket that reduces UVB and UVC emissions up to 99.9%, providing the same high performance lamps with greatly reduced risk of exposure to ultraviolet radiation. UVS not only extends the life of fixture components, it also reduces UV emissions from the back of fixtures, without compromising performance. New single-end Osram HMI UVS lamps come with an orange base and are available in 200W, 400W, 575W, 800W, 1,200W, 1,600W, and 1,800W versions, delivering 16,000 to 165,000 lumens with an average rated life up to 1,000 hours.
