Thousands of live design professionals streamed into LDI 2011 held October 24-30 in the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, FL. More than 8,300 registered attendees at this year’s show browsed the exhibit hall, attended professional training sessions, and networked with industry peers. More than 300 leading manufacturers and suppliers of lighting, projection, sound, special effects, rigging and staging products and services showcased the latest innovations over the course of the three day exhibition.
This year’s trends were toward greener and more compact equipment. Some of the new products featured on the LDI show floor included solar-energy charged modular battery road cases, a wireless pyro control system, and compact LED moving head lights.
LDI 2011 provided a training boot camp for professionals who design the lighting, sound, effects, and staging for any live event including weekly church services, Broadway musicals, the Super Bowl, and the stages of all major world concert tours. LDI 2011 offered professionals a pro-training program that included hands-on technology training, backstage tours of top Orlando venues, case studies and applied gear training.
Celebrating its 25th year, LDI 2012 will be held in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV October 19-21, and will remain in Las Vegas through 2014.
