SSE Orders First Soundcraft Vi6 Digital Consoles

In little over a month since its launch, SSE Hire has placed an initial order for four Soundcraft Vi6 digital live mixing consoles to add to its impressive digital rental stock.

Headquartered near Birmingham with additional sites in Europe, SSE Hire is a member of the SSE Audio Group, which offers integrated services including sound design, service and repair, fabrication, and structures. SSE Hire provides audio systems for events, tours and concerts worldwide.

Having contributed input to the development of the Soundcraft Vi6 and recently completed trials with the unit at its warehouse in Redditch, SSE Hire manager Rich Rowley says, "We've known Soundcraft for many years and have been familiar with their trusted MH range but have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the digital Vi6. We were not disappointed; our first experiences with it have been very exciting. The user interface is captivating and the architecture is well thought out."

Adrian Curtis, Soundcraft VP of sales worldwide, adds, "Given SSE's experience and market reputation, this is a wonderful endorsement of the Soundcraft Vi6 and the design philosophy for our new range."

Officially launched at Frankfurt's Pro Light + Sound expo this Spring, the Soundcraft Vi6 is a third generation digital mixing console, the result of the newly integrated development and marketing teams of the Soundcraft Studer Group. With experience gained from Studer's highly successful Vista broadcast and live performance consoles and Soundcraft's range of live consoles, the development team brought three brand new, patented key technologies to bear on the Vi6, namely Vistonics II, Soundcraft FaderGlow, and the new high-performance DSP core, SCore Live. While field trials of the Vi6 are continuing, production is well under way for a June delivery.
