Projected Image Digital At PLASA 2005

This year, Projected Image Digital (PID) has moved to bigger premises in west London, launched a new Web site, and supplied digital media products like HES Catalyst™, Pixel MAD and Element Labs VersaTUBE™ to various live entertainment venues. The company’s client base is also diversifying into architectural installations for both retail and commercial projects. At PLASA 2005, PID features Element Labs’ dynamic VersaTILE and VersaTUBE products from their range of LED-based video input display technology. These will be controlled from a Pixel MAD system.

The latest Catalyst software will be displayed, running on both Apple MAC Powerbook and G5 platforms.

PID will also highlight the latest D-Tek products, which visual and lighting designers to control multiple video devices from a DMX lighting desk. Examples of PID’s huge range of digital media clips will be playing on all of these systems, illustrating the creative possibilities of both high-res and low-res imagery that is ideal for Pixel MAD, Catalyst, or any other digital media system.

Projected Image at PLASA

Projected Image Digital’s sister company, the international gobo manufacturer Projected Image will be highlighting the latest additions to its extensive gobo catalogue and promoting its new Web site at PLASA. The Web site was re-launched in July, incorporating a new online catalogue.

Projected Image has just installed a larger Imagesetter. This outputs film at the higher resolution of 5,048 DPI (compared to 3,600 DPI previously). It enables the detail of color artwork to become even finer, with a crisper projected image and the added flexibility of progressive gradients.

New Addition to Projected Image Team
Graphic designer Ben Blake joins the Projected Image team as products & services manager. He will be at PLASA with the rest of the team.
