BlackTrax 3D from Cast is a system for accurately tracking people and objects, using a proprietary IR placed on each object to track X, Y, and Z coordinates. The newest version also drives 3D audio output. A prototype of BlackTrax 6D tracks the position and orientation for 3D plus roll, pitch, and yaw in realtime. The system can track all the parameters of each uniquely tagged object in the defined 3D space. Should the IR line of sight be obstructed, the onboard accelerometer delivers redundant tracking data. The onboard gyroscope communicates the orientation of a moving set piece, dancer, etc. with speeds of more than 150 frames per second.
