Green Hippo Shows New Gear At PLASA

Green Hippo returns to PLASA brandishing a new set of tools. Two new products have been added along with an extensive reworking of Hippotizer Software.

HippoCritter is a new entry level Hippotizer enabling large-scale functionality at a small scale cost. Boasting most of the features of its siblings, this small form-factor server opens up new possibilities for those wishing for high-grade media playback at a fraction of the cost. Seamless integration with the acclaimed HippoNet control protocol makes it ideal for installation and architectural applications or as an additional source on existing setups.

Also joining the line up is HippoPortamus. This laptop-based Hippotizer brings portability to those wishing to take their show with them. As a standalone unit it provides all the familiar Hippotizer features or, for projection designers and lighting professionals, show programming and server control solution via its ZooKeeper control software.

Hippotizer Stage and Hippotizer HD are now shipping in Green Hippo’s new road-ready enclosure featuring its rear, modular design for current and future add-ons/options, Quiet, Regulated Cooling, front-mounted LCD with navigation keys for setting adjustments without a monitor, rugged metal shell, and multifunction LED lighting strips to the front with failure alert functions.

All current Hippotizers now ship with the full release of 3.0.12 software. Key features include numerous revisions for timeline, media management, import/export and keystone functions. Several new components have been added including advanced timecode readout, scheduling, and alarm functions. A new operation state named Simple Mode gives fast programming of less demanding shows. New features including a TCPIP/TelNet component extend the options for external control and bi-directional functionality opens up the ability to control third party devices directly from Hippotizer’s user interface.
