Elton Goes 60/60 With Nocturne

Sir Elton John celebrated his 60th birthday by topping his own record and performing his 60th sold out concert in Madison Square Garden in New York City. As with any of his normal touring dates, Elton called on Nocturne Productions to add HD video support for the extra special event.

Introduced by President Bill Clinton, and later joined by lyricist Bernie Taupin and guests Robin Williams and Whoopie Goldberg, Elton thanked the packed crowd for all their "loyalty, love, and support."

Paul Becher, Nocturne co-CEO took the reins as executive producer, coordinating several digital artists who created playback material for over 30 songs. Peter Moll directed the video support, using a 60x20ft HiDef V9 LED screen and a five camera Nocturne HD flypack.

"The show had a real party atmosphere, with lots of celebrities joining the fans to wish Elton their best. We created custom content especially for this show and the HiDef screen looked spectacular," says Becher. "Elton is one of our hardest working clients, he's already booking shows into 2008."

Madison Square Garden presented Elton with a banner commemorating his 60th sold-out show in the venue, roundly eclipsing the Grateful Dead's record of 52. The banner will be hung from the rafters of the Garden alongside championship banners for the Knicks and Rangers.

The show was taped for a scheduled April broadcast on Fox's MyNetworkTV.
