Barco Launches Compact 2K Digital Cinema Projector

Barco launched the D-Cine Premiere DP90 projector, a compact 2K digital cinema projector based on Texas Instruments DLP Cinema™ technology at Cine Expo, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, this week.

D-Cine Premiere DP90 meets or exceeds the SMPTE screen brightness standards for screens up to 49’, making it well suited for exhibitors and post-production studios with smaller screens.

The D-Cine Premiere DP90 features a stand-alone projector and separate lamp power supply, which allow easy integration in the design of any theatre or post-production studio. Removable side panels and reference points on top provide easy, while the specially designed projection frame guarantees stable and easy ceiling-mount installations.

The D-Cine Premiere DP90 features a sealed engine, cost-efficient design, and an economy power mode, allowing the extension of the lamp lifetime up to 200%. With its lamp power redundancy system, if one power supply should fail, operation is secured by the redundant second module.

A SNMP agent feature comes optional with the DP90 and would provide constant monitoring of the internal projection system. The SNMP agent software also allows for flexible integration in existing networks as well as proactive intervention and maintenance if necessary.

The DP90 forms part of Barco’s D-Cine Premiere 2K projector range, which includes the DP100 used for the European launches of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith in May.
