Cast Software released a special advanced copy of R18 this week. Officially registered wysiwyg users have also been given the opportunity to purchase and upgrade to this new release. R18 will be made available to the general public early next week. After months of development and testing with industry leaders, wysiwyg R18 is Cast’s most advanced and comprehensive release to date.
“We felt it was our responsibility to create a release that surpassed our users’ expectations. The feedback we received suggested that faster performance and the ability to queue multiple render jobs were high priority. We decided to focus on building a stronger and more efficient Render Engine that would provide quick results and even more powerful lighting effects,” says Josh Koffman, VP of product development.
R18’s features include:
- A stronger, more reliable render engine that delivers you faster results and better lighting effects
- A new Background Rendering Manager that lets you queue multiple render jobs, pause and resume rendering, even restart your computer without losing render progress
- New multifaceted wizards and tools for quickly creating LED walls, video curtains, star cloth and virtually any other light-emitting props you can imagine
- New fixture tools that make hanging and distributing multiple fixtures a snap
