Painting The Landscape with Acclaim

With Acclaim Lighting’s new Color Ray LED luminaire, it’s easy to cast a palette of changing colors on building exteriors, statues, landscaping or any outdoor area. A robust color-changing effect, the Color Ray features three high-power 1-watt LEDs (red, green, and blue) that can produce an extremely bright flood of color whether used outdoors or inside a building.

What’s more, no matter how harsh the weather or environment, the Color Ray’s color wash won’t be a washout. The fixture features a high ingress protection rating of IP 65, meaning it can withstand dust and rain for safe, reliable outdoor use.

“The Color Ray is a rugged LED color-changing fixture that works as well outdoors as inside,” says Eric Loader, director of sales for Acclaim Lighting. “In fact, the ‘6’ in its IP is the very highest rating given for protection against solid objects, which means it can’t be penetrated by any type of particle, even very fine dust. The second digit ‘5’ signifies that it can stand up to water coming at it from all directions. Plus, the weatherproof power/data cables and connectors integrated into the unit allow for quick and reliable installation.”

The Color Ray’s high-intensity RGB LEDs can be operated individually or in combination to produce a variety of rich hues, which can be changed at any speed and interval.

The fixture can be operated with a DMX-512 compatible controller, or it can be used as a stand-alone unit. For use in the latter mode, it comes equipped with 10 preset programs with speed and fade time selection. It features a 10° standard beam angle for maximum output.

Measuring 5.3”L x 3.9”W x 6.3”H and weighing just 2.6 lbs, the Color Ray draws five-watt maximum power consumption at full RGB intensity, the output equivalent of a 50W halogen lamp. Housed in a sturdy die cast aluminum case with powder coating, it can be operated in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +50°C. and the fixture is CE certified.

An optional controller that can drive up to 20 Color Ray units, the Ray Power, is also available (sold separately). The suggested retail price of the controller is $299.
