New Christie Widescreen Projectors

Christie has introduced two new projectors to the widescreen projection market: the Christie DW3K and the DW6K projectors. Featuring the new Darkchip2 DMD technology and Xenon illumination, the projectors are ideal for wide-screen applications, such as in houses of worship, boardrooms, and training rooms.

"Widescreen format is the future of projection and it's here today," remarks Gary Fuller, director of sales and global product manager, Rental/Staging, Christie.

The Christie DW3K delivers 3,000 ANSI lumens and the Christie DW6K delivers 6,000 ANSI lumens. They feature true 16:9 display, 1280x720 resolution, 1500-2000:1 contrast ratio, and 10-bit image processing for crisp images and perfect color saturation. Built-in edge blending and optional image warping allow images to be wrapped around objects of almost any shape.

The projectors’ easy-to-use package includes an intuitive graphic interface, auto setup, on-screen help, and direct key access. A full suite of lenses and optional ceiling mounts make installation options limitless. The CERMAX Xenon lamp module (1,000 hours lamp life) in conjunction with the Christie Light Output Control (LiteLOC) extends bulb life and maximizes cost-of-ownership. Xenon lamps provide a color spectrum that closely replicates natural light, which is particularly important in immersive displays.

The DW3K and DW6K projectors provide a higher level of monitoring and control over TCP-IP network from anywhere in the world, with their on-board backlit keypad, IR remote control, and integrated ChristieNET network connectivity module.

In other Christie news, the Christie DS+25 Digital Projector is now shipping. The DS+25 is the industry’s first high-resolution single-chip DLP projector and features native SXGA+ resolution, 2500 lumens, and 2500:1 contrast ratio.
